Many people make the mistake of assuming you can’t have custard when on keto. Well, they’re wrong. We have not one but two low carb custard recipes for you.
Now let’s make some custard!
Low carb custard – Option 1
- 2 eggs
- 2 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup water
- 1.5 Tbsp granulated sugar substitute
- 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
- No sugar dessert sauce
Combine the custard ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into two greased ramekins or bowls.
Preheat the oven to 325 F. Place your ramekins in a cookie sheet and place in the oven. Pour hot water up into the cookie sheet until halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
Bake for 30 minutes, or until set. Remove and chill for at least one hour (or overnight) before serving.
You can top it with any no sugar sauce you like.
Low carb custard – Option 2
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup of butter
- 1 cup of vegetable shortening
- 1 egg yolk
- Sweetened powder juice of your liking
Put the egg yolk through a sieve and mixed it with the milk on a pan. Put on the stove and keep stirring while adding the butter and vegetable shortening. Keep doing it until they’re dissolved.
Put the mixture in a blender and blend for about 3 minutes. Put on a jar and place in the refrigerator until the next day.
Add powder juice to your lining and blend again.
